LOWEPRO DEBUTS UNIQUE COMPACT-SIZED
WATERPROOF CAMERA BACKPACK

Santa Rosa, CA — February 26, 2003. Following hot on the heels of last year’s award-winning debut of the world’s first completely waterproof soft-sided camera backpack — the DryZone 200 — Lowepro unveils the DryZone 200’s “little brother,” the DryZone 100. The DryZone 100’s unmatched combination of outstanding features is certain to continue Lowepro’s cutting-edge reputation as the leader in photographic carrying case design.

Like its larger twin, the DryZone 100 represents the latest in innovative, practical camera bag technology. Its patented TIZIP™ EasySeal zipper and rubber-coated nylon drypod with heat sealed seams lock moisture out and keeps expensive equipment secure. Exterior mesh pockets and an integrated drain let water fall away to keep travel light. Drop the DryZone 100 overboard and it floats — even when fully loaded. A cushioned compartment customizes easily to accommodate a variety of photographic gear, including SLR and medium format camera systems. Away from the water, the DryZone 100’s convenient inner zipper and top clip offer smooth, quick access, so the outdoor photographer never misses a crucial shot.

“We’ve built our reputation by listening carefully to the needs of our market, then developing creative, modern solutions to meet those needs,” Uwe Mummenhoff, President of Lowepro, said. “Today’s working photographers tell us they’re looking for backpacks that offer superior weather and shock protection, easy accessibility, the greatest comfort and maximum quality. Our DryZone packs surpass these criteria, far beyond any other products available.”

The DryZone 100’s harness is ergonomically engineered with padded CollarCut™ shoulder straps. The bag’s mesh-covered DryFlo™ back pad affords comfort on long hikes. The DryZone 100 comes equipped with a slip-resistant rubber handle for a sure grip, even with wet hands. Photographers will appreciate such specialized features as a hide-away tripod holder, and external loops for attaching any of Lowepro’s modular SlipLock™ accessories and pouches.

As stylish as it is functional, the DryZone 100 is available either in high-visibility yellow with black accents, or in gray with black accents. At an affordable suggested retail price of $299, Lowepro anticipates the DryZone 100 will be the company’s next sales success.

The DryZone 100’s dimensions:

  • Size, exterior: 12.5W x 8D x 17.5H in. (32 x 20.5 x 44.5 cm)
  • Size, interior: 11W x 5.5D x 15H in. (28 x 14 x 38 cm)
